1st Ever Parking Lot Sale Was A Success!

October 1st, 2012

We just had our 1st ever parking lot sale here at our headquarters and it was a huge success! The weekend of Sept. 29th and Sept. 30th, we were opened from 8AM to 5PM. If you were lucky enough and are from Southern California, you were able to visit our headquarters and save tons on this very special occasion.

We had people from all over Southern California come visit to take advantage of our huge savings. Our gun safes were our most popular seller. We had police officers come through to check out the safes. They couldn’t resist since the safes were selling for more than 50% off their retail price. Could you imagine saving at least $500 off the retail price?! Our safes were literally coming off the lot one by one. We had a great turn out, with over 150+ visitors and selling more than 100+ safes. Thanks to everyone who came to visit and was able to come away with an excellent safe! We appreciate all your help and support.

We sold a wide variety of safes, most of them that only had minor scratches, dents and factory blemishes. They were all in 100% working condition and some of them without their original packaging. Any person that came through that weekend stumbled upon a huge goldmine of safes. Every customer loved the fact that the safes were constructed of 100% steel. They weren’t purchasing a plastic or cheap safe. They knew they were purchasing a solid steel constructed safe that can last them a lifetime.

We were left with little inventory at the end. Most of our visitors have heard us through advertisements, craigslist or those who subscribed to our newsletter. If you would like to subscribe to our newsletter to get the latest update on products, promotions, discounts and events, sign up here.

Our 1st Parking Lot Sale wouldn’t have been a success without our excellent staff members, who took the time out of their weekend to help with the event. Expect another parking lot sale in the near future! See more photos below of the event!

Safe Sales Booming Across The Country

August 26th, 2011

With the current state of the economy, it’s no wonder why many people are investing their money in high security safes. Many people are reconsidering where they store all their money and valuables. They’re stashing all their precious belongings into home safes, where they have access to it 24/7 without having to rely or drive to the bank. Others find it more convenient and efficient to be able to store their gold or jewelry safely at home without depending on a bank’s safety deposit box. The disadvantage to having a safety deposit box is that you don’t have access to it throughout the entire day and night. By having your own safe in the convenience of your own home, you can monitor and gain access to it anytime.

The economic situation of the country doesn’t look like it will improve anytime soon that people are making moves to secure their assets elsewhere. With the unpredictable and insecure financial market, that’s the reason most people are looking into stores or on the web for safes. Usually the country’s economic condition can play a large role in what people do with their possessions. As you’ve read in some of our blog posts, many people are desperate raiding or burglarizing homes and businesses because of how critical the country’s economy has been. This day and age, it’s very peculiar to see people storing their own valuables, but in times like this, it seems to be the better and safer way.

If you take a look at our previous post, you can see how common it is to have a home safe in Japan. The people of Japan find it a lot easier and suitable to secure their valuables at home. Even with Japan’s devastating natural disaster, many of the safe owners were able to retain their valuables after their safes were wiped out from the tsunami and lost after the earthquake. A safe can be a huge advantage in cases like this where they’re able to protect, secure and keep your valuable possessions intact even after a natural disaster.

Having your own home safe where you can store all your important documents can be a great investment that can last a lifetime. The one thing you have to keep in mind is that you invest in a high quality safe. If you’re going to store a large amount of cash, expensive jewelry, or simply want to keep sensitive documents such as passports or insurance information, then you need something that will provide the best possible protection.  Usually you want to place your safes in low-key areas of your home or ones that are built strong and heavy that they’re nearly impossible to remove. Most of the time, heavy-duty safes come with pre-drilled anchor holes that allow you to bolt the safe onto the ground.

The one thing you should remember before you invest in your own safe is to educate yourself on the different types of safes. Everyone wants the most affordable safe, but you also want the best protection that fits all your needs. Although bank officials have said that there isn’t any need to worry about your money in the bank since it is FDIC insured, some people simply want the full control over their own assets. Since then, sales of home security safes have increased significantly and should only continue to rise.

We have a full selection of safes available on our online store. We provide depository safes that are best fit for cash handling businesses. We carry hotel safes that are designed for compact and simple storage such as laptop computers, jewelry, cameras or other belongings for personal in room use. Those safes are perfect for college dorms, hospitals or for your home. If you are looking to store and secure your own firearms we have a wide assortment of gun safes built strong by the top manufacturers in the industry. We offer free shipping and no sales tax (except in California) on all safes. Start protecting and securing all your valuables now!

Thieves Raid Home Stealing Over $25,000 Worth of Valuables

August 5th, 2011

In the city of Bradenton, Florida a recent burglary has the local towns people worried and nervous as the police are investigating a Palmetto home that was broken into. The burglars stole a 700-pound gun safe that stored a plethora of guns that totaled to 23 different firearms. They also stole a 50-pound safe that was even anchored to a wall, reported by the Sherriff.

A more frightening fact is that the burglars were able to break into the home, raid the area and take two safes without being seen by anyone or creating any suspicion. That must be startling for the neighborhood and those that live close by. The thieves didn’t use any sophisticated techniques or tools to break into the home. They did it the old fashion way, by smashing the front window of the home. It’s surprising to hear that because most burglars would go through the backyard where they would be less exposed to the neighbors.

Once the robbers gained entry inside, it led them into the home office. They raided the office room and two bedrooms where they then stole the two safes that contained multiple firearms. The victim of the burglary was a member of the Manatee Gun Club and told the police that he had no clue who would do such a thing.  The heavy-duty and hefty gun safe held 23 guns that valued at an estimated worth of $15,000. The smaller 50-pound safe that was attached securely on to the wall contained about $7,000 in cash, $3,000 in jewelry and coins and $3,000 in savings bonds. All in all, the total amount that was stolen in valuables was $28,000. That doesn’t even include the damages that were done to the home and the value of the safes.

The deputies went around the neighborhood asking if anyone had seen any suspicious activity in the area, but no one had seen anything. With that being said, the deputies don’t have any suspects or witnesses to go by. We hope that any evidence presents itself that can lead to these suspects. Any person or group of people that breaks into a home doesn’t have the greatest intentions. Even worse, the thieves stole a horde of firearms that could be an even greater threat when choosing their next home to burglarize. Although they took in a large amount of cash and jewelry, they will be coming back for more to target another innocent victim.

Unsolved Mystery: Two Homes Raided & Guns Stolen

July 26th, 2011

An unsolved mystery is still being investigated as two intense and terrifying home raids occurred during the summer of 2009. Two homes were raided where the armed suspects tied up and threatened families and stole their firearms. The two incidents are believed to be linked, as both occurrences were very similar. Police are still hoping that anyone with any bit of information can provide clues or hints on their investigations.

One of the incidents happened to a family of five at Hampton Park. The family had three children between the ages of 12 through 15. The family was tied up with electrical tape and was even held at gunpoint by at least four different men. The incident occurred at about 8:45pm on June 3rd.

The 47-year-old father of three was forced to open his gun safe and the suspects ran off with five firearms that were worth about $3,000. Ever since that horrifying incident, he told the crime investigation’s unit that it has made a lasting impact on his family. “The incident has had a long-term impact on the family’s sense of security, which no one should be subjected to when it comes to living in their own home,” Det-Sgt Rumble said.

After that incident occurred, another similar occurrence happened just six weeks later on August 19th. The incident happened around the same time at 9pm as the 36-year-old man was forced to open up his safe while his 32-year-old wife who is several months pregnant was tied up. Two toddlers were also inside the house during the time. The man was led to his gun safe. The male victim tried to defend himself, but was restrained by the suspects as they forced him to fork up 11 of his treasured firearms in addition to other cherished belongings. The total worth of all the valuables that were stolen from the victim was more than $25,000.

Det-Sgt Rumble mentioned that both the male victims had ties to the Sporting Shooters Pistol Club, which is based in Springvale. The president of the Pistol Club, Mark Penberthy said that many folks were surprised and stunned by the incidents towards its members that other members of the club have invested and enhanced their own home security to take extra measures against burglary and theft.

“All our shooters keep their guns in safes, unloaded, and it’s ironic, as law-abiding shooters, they were completely defenseless in these situations,” Mr. Penberthy said. “Some of our members went out and bought video surveillance systems and commercial safes to heighten security around their homes. We use FBI standard triple-encryption on our membership lists to keep them secure because our concern that shooters can become a target.”

It’s very haunting and frightening that not only are the members of the club are victims to such intimidating crimes, but also their families are being threatened and targeted. It’s already nerve-racking finding someone break into your home, but having to be held up at gunpoint can be emotionally and mentally grueling. Imagine these families who could have lost their lives and were absolutely helpless despite having the right protection to secure their firearms. It will haunt them forever until these suspects are caught and arrested. It leaves a mental scar and could keep you up at night, paranoid that someone will come after you. That’s why you can never be too safe and you have to become aware of your surroundings. Here at Security Base, we’re always concerned not only about the safety and protection of your products, but also yourselves. You never know when an incident like this can happen to you.
