Electric Strikes
Electric Strikes are access control devices that are used for doors. The main use of electric strikes are to replace a fixed strike faceplate often used with a latch bar. This allows the door to be pushed open from the outside without the latch being retracted, usually without a knob. There are two basic configurations for electric strikes, which are "Fail-Secure" and "Fail-Safe." Fail-Secure applies an electric current to the strike that will cause it to open the door. The strike would be kept locked in case of a power failure, but with a use of the knob, can be easily opened from the inside.
A Fail-Safe also known as Fail-Open applies an electric current to the strike that will cause it to lock, very similar to a magnetic lock. In case of a power failure, the door can be opened simply with a push or pull. We offer a variety of different electric strikes available to you with different operating voltages, duties, sound and top manufacturers such as Adams Rite, Securitron, Trine, Rutherford, Hes and more.
